I tuned in too late to see the Duran Duran mash up, and my life is never going to be the same.
(2005, my friend and I went to see DD on tour. We never got to do it as teenagers, and I’m guessing neither did all the other women in the auditorium of our generation. It was phenomenal – my inner 14 year old could not wrap her head around SEEING. THEM. LIVE. – and then, and THEN, Simon went behind Roger’s drum kit and the lights dimmed and the beginning of The Chauffeur began to play, and Simon came back out with a cap tilted over his forehead and jsadhflkjhasldfhlasdf my friend and I combusted everywhere. Holy shit. And he wasn’t even my favorite. Nick was. But that says so much about my warped childhood.)
OMG, I loved them so much. ROGER. It was always Roger for me (followed by Nick, lol!) *dreamy sigh*
I STILL fan myself when I hear The Chauffeur. Unf, that’s a good song. Sounds like we would have been doodle-on-our-folders buddies, to me! <3
ROGER. I loved when he left the band to go be a PIG FARMER. Oh, Roger.
We definitely could have practiced our Mrs ________ signatures together :D And traded sparkly DD stickers. (Oh, god, I had a sparkly tee with John’s face on it . . . )
First, I have been lobbying (on Twitter) for ages, to get a Glee/NCIS crossover. (No, seriously.) And I feel that last night’s episode proves, PROVES that dreams do come true. (At least partially, a little bit, I’m gonna take what I can get here and walk away.) *sniff* I’m so happy!
Also, last night’s episode was excellent, but it as made squirrely-go-nuts better by that audition video you just linked to. OH. MY. GAWD. Not sure where you found that, but DAMN.
And no, there will be no Finchel wedding. Quinn won’t be out of that chair by Nationals. Glad to see Rory and Sugar still a thing, that Teen Jesus is finally in the group, and that Will has a grown-up friend at last.
Not sure how I feel about next week’s disco thing though. I mean, I liked it back in the day, but I was in Jr. High and it was required by law.
Ahahahaha, yes, that was the answer to your prayers! :D
Is that audition tape not one of the funniest things you’ve seen? I wonder how many takes they had to do – if I was Darren Criss, I would have had the hardest time not breaking and laughing my ass off. Matt Bomer = owner of my heart today.
I didn’t even THINK about the resonance with the “Brothers!” line from BioTA (which you know is one of my favorite Blaine lines ever) last night, and that is so brilliant. All the hearts to you! (And shower Blaines/Darrens.)
I DO know that about you!! I’m so glad I thought of something that’s got you all thinky, YAY.
Gott im Himmel, that was TOO MUCH. Okay, it wasn’t TOO much, but laws! I need to fan myself.
I love Roz, I think she’s hilarious. Also I pretty much died laughing when Brad cheered at Sue throwing Mercedes phone. Man I love Brad.
Matt Bomer is perfection. He really is a Disney prince. Cooper was too funny and I really he hope he comes back sometime. I’ve watched all his scenes at least 10 times now but it’s not enough. I hope he returns.
I’m just pleasantly shocked that NeNe is actually funny and doing well on camera, you know?
MATT BOMER IS A DISNEY PRINCE AND A SAINT. Jeez, he is too much awesomeness in one body. He should be twins. I said elsewhere that I would like the Hud-mels to be like Happy Days, and the Anderbros to be Laverne & Shirley, one-two on my TV screen. I would watch the hell out of those.
Not only the “Brothers!” line..but how about “I am not for sale!” outburst from Sectionals this year? Cause i’m pretty sure Cooper would prescribe to Jane Lynch’s “Don’t say no to anything” mantra but he’d ignore the “except porno” proviso Jane puts in it.
Cooper Anderson needs to return…go into business with Jesse (Drama clubs need consultants too don’t they) and just film it all for a truly epic/awesome You Tube Series.
I would pre-own that DVD set so hard. Jesse + Cooper = GREATEST SPIN OFF EVER.
Baby Blaine lisps, “I just learned to walk three years ago?” No excuse, buddy! Rachel Berry won her first dance competition when she was nine months old!
LOL. Everything about Matt Bomer was perfect in this ep.
And Holy Transformers, Batman, THANK YOU for linking to that Cooper Anderson “audition”! The fun never stops with these two.
It was okay. Matt Bomer and the Quinn/Artie stuff made this ep for me. I probably would’ve liked it more if I wasn’t stewing in my rage that they gave Fighter to Blaine. It wasn’t bad though it was just…meh.
I’m just sitting here laughing so hard (and I just finished the episode!). And I’m also debating spamming the White Collar writers for a musical episode. WHO KNEW MATT BOMER HAD THAT VOICE?? ZOMG.
I really am fully in support of Sue having a child with Down’s. I think that option was suggested before, when she announced her pregnancy.
Also, so glad with the turn of events re:Finchel. Now Rachel can go off to NYC with Kurt and be happy. (Especially if Puck goes too. Sorry, my shippiness is showing.)
I want Matt Bomer in ALL THE THINGS. All of them. Including my house, hey-o! I mean the living room, because I’m a nice girl and he happens to have a lovely and committed partner.
You can show your shippiness all you’d like – I agree.
OK, there was a lot going on in this episode, true. After the way they ended the previous ep, I was expecting something a little more..dramatic? Maybe Quinn in a hospital? Instead, nope! She is in a wheel chair with no visible bruises or injuries of any kind. Odd.
I did love Matt Bomer and he and Darren on stage together = TOO MUCH HOTNESS. Can’t handle it. Need an icy beverage.
Finally, and this is silly but, I was so dreading when I saw that they covered ‘Somebody That I Used to Know’ by Gotye. I -adore- that song and kind am irked when Glee rushes to cover new hits. I was afraid for how it would turn out, but they knocked it out of the park! I still think everyone should go look it up on you tube though (especially because the horrible radio version with the synthetic beat is just terrible.)
I’m guessing they stuck with the 6 week timeline (in which case, why were Rachel and Finn talking about their aborted wedding…) But this is Glee logic. Which is not Earth logic, lol. That way lies madness, I’m telling you.
Kurt was TOTALLY right about the Anderbros. Whoo. *fans self*
Oh my god, I love love LOVE Gotye, and that song in particular. I have to say I loved it so much. I’m so happy that you’re a fan of them – he’s amazing, and that entire album is on constant repeat in my house. (And your comment about the radio edit makes me glad I never listen to the radio.)
It took me entirely too long to figure out where I’d seen Matt Bomer before, partly because I couldn’t wrap my head around the fact that he could sing. But DAMN. I need that cover of “Somebody I Used to Know” like water.
I’m glad that Quinn’s “Everything’s perfect and awesome and nothing about this life-altering situation bothers me at all” facade broke down pretty quickly, and I actually didn’t mind the anti-texting PSA at Finn – it makes sense to me that she would be a little twitchy about the whole thing. Texting has now become a trigger for her, and I think they handled that pretty well.
Overall, not the best episode ever, but it looks like they’ve left the door open for more Co0per Anderson, which makes life AWESOME.
“Good news! I’ve booked a tour of the railway museum on Friday which means we’re gonna have an AWESOME Seniors Ditch Day what is she doing here-”
FUNNIEST line of the episode!
And Matt Bomer needs to be on everything. He really, really does. He was fantastic in this. The man just makes me happy. That audition tape is one of the funniest things I’ve seen in forever. I hope they bring Cooper back.
Things are not looking too peachy or keen on the Rachel/Finn front and I couldn’t be happier. They don’t need to break up but they certainly need to grow up. It’s funny that Puck has a solidish plan that would give Finn a career and Rachel a shot at her dream. If Puck is sounding reasonable, there’s something really wrong.
I have to go watch “Somebody That I Used to Know” again. Sometimes this show nails a song and this is one of those times. Those guys totally sold the emotion and they sound terrific.
BEST. GUEST. STAR. EVER!!! Matt Bomer was perfection. I really didn’t realize what a wonderful actor he is and that he has perfect comedic timing until this guest role. And he is the most handsome man in North America!! OMG! I drooled through the entire episode and tied a bath sheet under my chin when I re-watched all of his scenes a bazillion times!! (WHAT??? Don’t judge me!!)
Thank you for sharing that “audition tape”. I’ve been laughing to myself all morning at work!
